This post has been haunting my dreams lol. I (Brandy) usually dream about my creations, whether it be cakes, crafts or scrapping. A project will haunt me until I figure it out This was one of those creations. After seeing it on Pintrest I wanted to make it so bad. Of course whoever pinned it didn't pin the site so Alida and I had to go on our own creativity, we seem to work best that way.We also wanted to change a few things that would make the cake truer to the book then the one we found on Pintrest. We made it for a friends stagette which was themed after the books 50 shades of Grey. We had a sex party, went on a scavanger hunt with prizes such as handcuffs, feather boas and more. We had yummy purple martini's and appys, it was a ton of fun. Well back to the cake! I'm sure every woman out there has a dream man, well we made ours out of cake. He was complete with hand cuffs, light wash denim jeans, grey tie, and abs of perfection. We started with two baked chocolate cakes, butter cream, and fondant. Alida baked the yummy cakes and butter cream icing and I made all the colored fondant. Alida shaped the bottom layer into a torso and used the second cake to add abs and pectorals. We then worked together covering the cake with fondant. We used a few new techniques this time. We used a rubbing technique with food coloring to destress Christians jeans and add his well defined muscles. We also used a roller tool to add detail to the jeans and belt. Alida added all the detail to the cuffs and tie by hand. We learned that you need a really stiff cake or it crumbles everywhere.
